Adobe Connect Features Used
For this lesson, I will be using screen sharing, file uploads, chat, polls, chats, and break-out groups. I will upload and share a PowerPoint presentation that introduces the Warren College general education requirements. I will use polls to assess students' familiarity with the general education requirements at the beginning of the session, and use another polling question at the end to assess knowledge of the GE requirements. In addition, I will use the chat feature for students to ask questions or comment on the presentation. I will also use a break-out group for the learning activity, where students are presented a fictional student and must decide what classes he/she should take and recommend resources for that student. The learners will use the break-out room for discussion during the learning activity. This complements the problem-based learning strategies I intend to use by allowing students to discuss the problem presented to them and collaborate to solve the problem. If I used this presentation for real UCSD transfer students, I would most likely divide them into break-out groups by majors since the GE requirements are based on a student's major discipline.
