I chose not to include a camera in this lesson, because of the varying capabilities of the students who are being reached all over the world. It would cause too much complication for them. Each will be required to have audio access, however, and preferably a microphone.

I will make use of the following pods, and rename them in such a way that international students can understand:

Share Pod: A PowerPoint will be the main source of information, and that through which the facilitator begins the discussion. The word ‘share” will be changed to “begin here”, to help prompt students to direct their attention here.

Poll pod: will be moved to the right hand side, to make sure that it doesn’t cover the Attendee list, chat, or note pod. It also will help prevent confusion for the students. The word “poll” will be changed to “answer this question”.

Attendee list will be renamed to “our international students”, and be at the top.

Chat will be changed to “ask questions”, and kept below the attendee list, so students can easily associate whose asking the question.

Notes will be kept notes, as students should be able to understand this.

File share will be renamed “photos”, to encourage students to share about their life.
