Mike Salamanca Features within Adobe Connect

Screen Sharing:
Screen sharing will be used heavily in these facilitations because it will be the primary source of information for the learners. It will support my learners in achieving these objectives because they will be able to see when both the images and the types of ways to determine doneness, that would otherwise be difficult only by listening to my voice or reading my words.

Recording:
The recording feature will be used as a way to archive these facilitations for future use or for students who may not have been able to access these meetings.

Chat:
Chat will be used to give all students a voice. Those without microphones will be able to participate in the discussion, and those with microphones that are too shy to speak will still have the opportunity to talk. This will help the learners achieve these objectives because they can also raise their hands and ask questions without changing the momentum of the course.

Notes (Agenda):
The agenda (formerly notes) tool will be used so that all students can keep track with where we are in the learning so that if we have moved on to another piece and they feel like they are still unsure with the previous part, they are encouraged to ask for clarification.

Voice & Camera:
These tools are what make the online facilitation so much better. Students can obviously read about how to cook meat, but when it is discussed with them and they are able to see hand gestures or actual cuts of meat via a camera and have it described to them with a real voice it is much easier to understand the lesson.
